September 1, 2011: Fredericton, NB - Sylvar Technologies Inc. (Sylvar) is pleased to announce a new business partnership with Andermatt Biocontrol AG for insect pest management. Sylvar is a New Brunswick based company that offers bio-pesticide technology to control forest insect pests. Andermatt BioControl, based in Switzerland, is the worldwide leader in the production of baculovirus products.

Government of Canada Continues its Support of Springboard - Allowing Atlantic Canada's Post-Secondary Institutions to Maintain Excellence in Technology Transfer
August 31, 2011: Moncton (NB) - Atlantic Canadian post-secondary institutions will receive continued support in moving their cutting-edge research and development (R&D) from the lab to the marketplace, thanks to an $8.5 million federal investment in Springboard Atlantic Inc. (Springboard). Established seven years ago, Springboard is a not-for-profit organization that supports the commercialization of research in Atlantic Canada. It provides resources to 19 post-secondary institutions in Atlantic Canada to encourage the transfer of knowledge to the private sector. This includes fourteen universities and five provincial community colleges.

The EcoEnergy Innovation Initiative
August 5, 2011: The Honourable Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources, and Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière announced a new ecoENERGY Innovation Initiative (ecoEII). This new program received $97 million in funding in the 2011 budget, for a comprehensive suite of research and development (R&D) and demonstration projects for clean energy technologies that will create high-quality jobs for Canadians.
